Mistral’s ‘First Flight’ Sabre Foils, have been developed using a bottom-up, first principles engineering approach, meaning that we have been able to focus on the critical design elements which make up a hydrofoil wing to optimise performance in every aspect.

Effortless flight is the goal of any first flight experience, where energy expenditure needs to be minimised for maximum return on air time. This was a key element to our design goals. Once up on the foil the next quality consideration was flight stability in making the experience smooth without nasty pitch control issues resulting in frequent landings and take-offs; high pitch stability is therefore a key feature.

While a first flight experience warrants ease of take off and high pitch stability, it was our goal to create foils that would perform beyond the first flight experience into the realms of levels of speed and performance sought by advanced riders. In this respect, unlock-able potential means our Sabre can exceed the performance needs of first flight riders.
